WhistlePig 12 Year Bespoke Rye Barrel Select is a marriages of whiskeys that have been finished in Port, French Sauternes and Madeira casks. The final result is a a bold American rye that has been fused with the elegance and grace of a fine single malt Scotch. (70% Madeira finish, 20 French Sauternes and 10% Port finish.)
Nose– Caramel, vanilla and winter fruit
Taste– Rye spice, apricots, plums, raisins, dates and honey
Finish– Dark chocolate, winter fruit, caramel and vanilla
About the Distillery
In 2007, Raj Bhakta purchased a farm in Shoreham, Vermont and founded WhistlePig in 2008. The company opened their distillery on the 500-acre farm in 2015 and Bhakta retired from the business in 2017. BDT Capital partners partnered with WhistlePig who have emerged as an ultra-premium luxury American whiskey.

WhistlePig 12 Year Bespoke Rye Barrel Select has a light caramel hue with aromas of sweet tea, slight acetone, vanilla, chocolate and sweet wood. The first sip is smooooooth, with flavors of cherry, vanilla, slight spice, hint of cinnamon and light chocolate that ends with a very slight bitter wood taste. This is a very well balanced rye whiskey that is easy to drink neat…. and I encourage you to try this one! Perfection in a bottle!!!
