The focus of Mexico has always been on tequila and mezcal, so it’s not surprising that the first real Mexican whisky was produced in 2013. Mexican Whisky is distilled using heirloom corn and most of the whisky produced comes from Oaxaca.
In 2019, Destileria y Boedga Abasolo became the country’s first distillery to dedicate all of their production to Mexican whisky.
